Holiday fun on ice for young cancer patients

HAUPPAUGE DEC 22 2017— Two dozen children being treated in the oncology and hematology program at Stony Brook University Hospital and their families were treated to an evening of skating and presents at The Rinx.

The event was made possible by the Dr. Dineen Memorial Foundation, started by Dr. Patrick Dineen in memory of his father who was an orthopedic surgeon.

“This is a place where my father and mother worked so hard to allow me the opportunity to come here every day and skate and train and reach my goals in life, and that afforded me the opportunity to do what I’m doing today,” Dineen said.
