Care for Corey

The second annual Skate for Corey at the Rinx in Hauppauge, NY was held on Sunday, December 11, 2011. The hockey community was again working hard to help those in need. Corey Beattie, the now 19-year-old granddaughter of the Rinx owner, is continuing to recover from a very serious car accident that resulted in a broken neck as well as severe Global Brain Trauma. This year, the Dr. PJ Dineen Memorial Foundation joined the hockey family in raising money for Corey’s escalating medical bills and for the Foundation. The Rinx holds a special place in the heart of the Dineen family because Dr. Dineen frequented and enjoyed himself at this establishment for over 15 years.

Thank you to the following sponsors: Suffolk County High School Hockey League for donating two hours of ice for all participants to enjoy, Domino’s Pizza, Port Jeff Sporting Goods, the New York Islanders, and everyone who helped organize the event and to all those who joined our efforts in improving the lives of others.
